Handling Cc'ed email addresses

Last updated January 8, 2026

Overview

OutboundSync supports mapping Cc email addresses from certain sales engagement platforms to your CRM, ensuring that all recipients in an email thread are logged.

This is useful for maintaining complete records of communications, such as when you email the wrong contact and they include someone else on their team via Cc to learn more.

Cc'ed email addresses are captured on the activity records themselves and do not create new leads or contacts in your CRM.

💡

Currently, this is only supported for EmailBison.

How Cc Mapping Works

OutboundSync processes the Cc values and maps them directly to email activity records in your connected CRM. This ensures that both primary recipients and those added via Cc are visible in the activity details.

HubSpot Mapping

In HubSpot, the event from EmailBison creates an entry in the Email Activity timeline for the associated contact. The record includes:

  • The full email body.
  • The primary recipient.
  • All Cc recipients listed in the activity details.

You can add multiple Cc addresses, and they will appear in the record. Note that while the webhook payload may include recipient names, HubSpot currently displays only the email addresses; names are not shown.

💡

If you need to verify or troubleshoot, check the contact's timeline in HubSpot for the specific email event.

Salesforce Mapping

In Salesforce, email events log an activity record with:

  • The email body.
  • The primary recipient.
  • Cc recipients visible in the activity details.

Multiple Cc addresses are supported and displayed accordingly.
